didn't intend it being that long off one, but the years seem to have flown by.
just been in the spare room, dug out all my old motorcycle gear. not seen it in 11 years lol
all still fits and in good condition, just need a new helmet as mine is 18 years old, hopefully will be getting a bike in 3-4 weeks.

looking at getting an 80's superbike or a 90's retro, done the race rep
so want a bike without a fairing, wish I had kept my old Suzuki GS1000 now

You won't regret it one little bit. I didn't ride for 20 years and when I got on a bike again in late 2011, it was bliss.

yes really looking forward to it now

I also had a 20 year break, so many wasted years. Don't like going a day without getting out now.

What lid are you looking at?

not sure yet but just something a plain black

The old man had a GS1000, may remember it being "great back in the day" but in reality you would be riding a bike with poor brakes, a frame that moves in cornering and a tank constantly rusting!

Dont know what your budget is but an XJR1300 might be good?

no not as good as todays bikes for sure but I found it fine, never got in to trouble with its handling or brakes

well I have decided to have the bike above
its having a 52 point check\new mot so should be getting it late next week.
2 owners from new with 33,000 miles
has some nice extras in the yoshi can\rear tail tidy\undertray\Braided Brake Lines and renthal bars
cost me £1480

still waiting for the bike, the service and check before the mot has shown the rear shock is tired, so there replacing it(better them doing it now than me later), just waiting for it to arrive so looking like mid next week now with it being bank hols.

helmet wise I didn't have a lot of money left but found this for just £39
sharp safety rated 4 star and was very surprised how good it looked when it arrived.
metallic black finish

Nice man... good deal on the lid as well. Just a question, how did you know the lid was going to fit you properly? Or had you tried one on and ordered etc>?

I measured round my head and it came out on the size chart as XL
helmet fits perfect.

Nice bike.
thanks

Is that aftermarket/different in any way brake hose in blue?

New tyres in rain, always fun! I got my last set of PR3 put on just as the heavens opened. Horrible trip home trying to avoid the multiplying rainbow slicks everywhere!

yes there HEL brake lines, around the £90 a set I believe

body not used to a bike lol neck n arms ache after just a 50 mile ride.
my feeling on the bike is good though this time out felt like I hadn't had 11 years off one

With out wishing to jinx you in any way shape or form, but might i suggest getting some crash bars on asap, as in even a minor off, those old air cooled Kwak motors are pretty wide by modern wc standards, so the first thing to bite the dust will be the ignition pick up on the right hand end of the crank, & the alt on the left.

Enjoy your new steed, & remember how damn slimey the roads can get when ever it rains after a dry, warm, sunny spell. :)

got the crash bars fitting them today

update
just fitted them took about an hour as I didn't get any instructions

thanks, really enjoying it and loving the bike
did over 200+ miles last weekend just riding and not going anywhere specific.
those Kawasaki air cooled 8 valve 4's are great engines
bags of bottom\midrange torque
