Few years ago I had a Nikon D5100 with numerous lenses that I sold to help get some money together for a house deposit.

Now that things have settled down and we have a little seven month old, I'm looking to get back into DSLR's to make the most of all the days out and his growing up.

I'm looking at either the Nikon D5200 or D3200

What are peoples opinions on these and what lenses would you recommend? Is the kit lens ok?

Just bought the D5200 as my first SLR and loving it. The kit lens is decent though I've heard it doesn't do the sensor justice. I've just bought the Nikkor 35mm f1.8 prime lens and can't recommend it enough, brilliant lens and only £128 (after £20 cash back).

The d5200 seems to be the go to mid range Nikon DSLR at the minute, it's one of the options I've been considering and seen a lot of recommendations for it.
