I still have, but no longer use a Nikon D50. I've sold all but the kit lens. I stopped using as it as compact cameras and phones go better - but the DSLR was bulky to carry around.

A colleague has recently got a micro four thirds camera, and it's making me considering getting one. Seem to be a lot of camera for the money with the Panasonic Lumix G/GX series.

What is there in the ~£400 price range that has interchangeable lenses but still nice and compact?

Olympus EM10ii and EM10iii are relatively close to that price rang but for me the Panasonic GX80 was what I chose and still have. The 12-32 kit lens that comes with it is an awesome lens.

The GX80 is compact, lightweight and coupled with that kit lens makes a great travel combo.

You'll find that image Stabalisation is a god send and a feature that you'll never want to be without once you use it.
