Hi all,

I recently had to format my hard drive due to failure and I had not made a back up for months on end. Now I lost all my emails in outlook and now I need one or two of them back. Is there anyway I can get these back?

Thanks

Depends entirely on what you mean by "failure" and what exactly you have done since the format.

I had to format around 2-3 times and installed a new version of windows :(

EDIT: also not really failure I updated all of my hardware and it didnt like it and "my windows was not genuine" so i bought a genuine version

The fact you've formatted and then overwritten a load of the disc really scuppers your chance of getting anything much back. There's various software you can try - GetDataBack will show you what it can get before you have to pay for it.

It is in documents and settings:

C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{A Load of seeminly random numbers}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\inbox.dbx

Thats express, not sure bout outlook

C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Some of the folders are hidden though. Good luck.

This shows my current emails on my system, If i restore that location with GetDataBack should the old ones be there?
