Getting best visuals out of CFS3?

I just bought CFS3 and installed and when the menu screen loads, for those who have the game this is the one with the plane and the pilot standing next to it kind of stretching, I get a lot of stutters. This is even on medium graphics settings. I downloaded and installed the latest patch and have the latest drivers for all my kit.

My setup is 4800+ X2, HIS 512MB XTX1900 and 2GB Geil RAM.

Anyone got any tips on getting this to look good without stutters? AFAIK this is an oldish game, so surely with my setup I should be able to run pretty much full on? My 3dMark score is in the 6k's.

Got the latest BIOS for your mobo? That fixed some stuttering for me on some other games.

Have you tried setting it to run on 1 core?

I've got the latest BIOS, 0311 for the Asus A8R32 MVP - I couldn't even run BF2 without it for stutters!

I haven't tried setting it to use 1 core - I'll give that a go later.

I don't know how many people still play it but the cfs3 board at simhq would probably be a good place to get help.

Finally got round to doing this - that was the problem - it doesn't like running on both cores, changed it to one and it works like a dream, thanks!
