Getting bored of PC gaming?

i havent really done any PC gaming for a few months, last few days i upgraded a bit and got a new 1920x1080 monitor, new desk set up, but there doesnt seem to be anything new thats any good? Im playing LOTRO but its a bit annoying having to run to every location, installed company of heroes but i played that last year so i got bored after one skirmish. What else is there that will hold my interest? Im thinking starcraft 2 maybe, but is there anything else?

What about good games from the 2004-2006 era?

Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.
 
I always think that if you are told to play a game, you wont enjoy it that much, but I can recommed you the following.

Half Life 2 + Ep1 and Ep2
Dragon Age Orgins + Expansion
Torchlight
Civilization 4 or/and 5.

If that fails, Age of Empires!!

I thought you had only just started playing WoW? If running to locations is a problem in LOTRO, team up with a hunter and teleport about all over the place :D

Theres quite a few good games from the 2004-2006 era, what sort of genre do you like?
 
I am enjoying the sp hl2 mods , the new eleven eighty seven mod is nicely done
So gaming is not dead imo , there is always something new around the corner.

i actually prefer lotro to wow imo, also i am a hunter in lotro, (although low level lol).

Genres anything really, ive overplayed RPGs a bit too much, RTS/FPS games are what im looking for really.

Well I often find myself swaying when it comes to pc gaming. Few months I wouldnt touch a game and then I might find a game (or set) and run through really fast or just leave it unfinished... Have you tried games like Mass Effect 2 or DA or even Prototype (loved the senseless destruction)? Also what genre are you looking for? MMOs? FPS? Racing?

I enjoyed Crysis and Far Cry (games and graphics blew me away)
Periodically i'd fire up Sniper

World in Conflict was good too but demanded too much from my ancient pc

Ah right, in that case you'll be teleporting all over the place soon enough :)

HL2 as mentioned would be a good bet, Farcry maybe, Bioshock, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines, one of the Battlefield series, Doom 3 maybe.

Starcraft 2 perhaps, maybe one of the Dawn of War series they are pretty good.
 
I have just looked on my steam account and I am still yet to properly play Mass Effect, and I have Mass Effect 2 waiting there as well. Heh!
 
I went through a phase of being bored of PC gaming, I sold my gaming PC too. After a while I came back and have a few decent games that keep me going between releases - SC2, BFBC2 to name a few. Can't wait for Diablo 3.
 
Hey, what about Borderlands and Just Cause 2?
And Dead Rising 2.
What about Arma II, if you want something ultra realistic?
Surely those deserve a mention?
