Ok, i lie, ive had it for years at my parents house, but ive moved out now and will be getting for myself!

Just want to clarify a few things.

I won't be moving to a cable area :(, so im guessing i have to get a BT landline, which is £10.50 a month with free weekend calls correct?

Then ontop of this i pay £15 or whatever it is for broadband, around the 8mb mark? So im looking at £25.50 a month for bb?

BT Line is £10.50 only if you sign up to direct debit + paperless billing.

Don't forget they will almost certainly try and screw you for the £130 'installation' fee even if a line is currently present at the property.

I had this problem and despite me calling the 17070 test number and playing it down the phone to customer services there was still 'no line at that address sir'

I wrote to the head of customer services and had the £130 charge dropped. Normally all you should have to pay is a 'reconnection' fee of around £30 which i was prepared to pay since there was no need to send an engineer - in fact he turned up and said to me "erm...i don't have to do anything"
