Getting BSOD when connecting my external USB HDD

Getting BSOD when connecting my external USB HDD.

This only started happening since I installed my 8800 GTX.

Any ideas?

Guessing there is a conflict, but how do I fix it? Tried new mobo drivers and bios, various forceware drivers, I'm stumped.

Could it be your PSU? My bro' in law has the same problem ever since he bought my 2 7900GTs off me and ran them in SLI. He has the dreaded Hiper Power 580W PSU.

surely a psu couldnt be causing BSOD? and arent external usb hdd's still powered by a plug socket?

Hdd has its own plug yeah, running an Enermax 620

Do you receive a STOP error when the machine BSOD's? (If so, which file is referenced)
Is anything written to the Event Viewer under System logs at the time of the error?

This happened to me, was so annoying!

Only happened on Vista for me Months back, since I've reinstalled Vista it hasnt happened since.
