Dads peugeot 306 went in to get the glow plugs replaced (apparently only one of them was working!) and they had to disconnect the battery or something, so the radio's gone into lock down mode.
Got it back home, and he had a look for the code, couldn't find it, so he started hitting random number in. So, long story short, it just keeps displaying ---- now, no enter code screen.

Had a quick google around with no luck, any idea how to get it back to the enter code screen? (Found the code now) Tried leaving the key in the ignition overnight with the radio on, and disconnecting the battery, but no luck. Is there any way to get the radio working again?

Car's a peugeot 306, the radio is a 3035, according to the car manual, and its a Clarion.

Thanks all!

Random codes was a bit of a daft idea - if you had gone to peugeot they might have been able to give you the code.

You'll need to have it unlocked, most car stereo places can do it and it normally involves sending the unit away (did with my 306) - it'll also cost you

I'd be interested in knowing this too, my gf did exactly the same thing. In the handbook it says it is permanently locked and to go to a dealer. Is it possible to unlock the radio or is it bin time?

Am I invisible lol? Yes you can have them unlocked, find a local car stereo shop and they'll be able to send it away or maybe even do it in house. There are some online places too

Any idea of cost?

Tbh if its more than £10-20 I may as well throw it away and get a cheap CD player.

May as well, I ended up doing that with my VW radio, they wanted £15 to supply the code, went and got an ex display radio about a million times better from halfords for £40.

Think it was £30 when I had it done, but that was 7 years ago now. Probably depends on the place though.

There are quite a few places online selling software that will apparently do it, dont fall for it - it doesnt work

Thanks for the help, I'll pass it all on. However, in the handbook it says that if you enter the wrong code, its just a 1 hour wait before you can enter it again.

Still, looks like halfords it is, then.

Generally you enter it wrong once and it makes you wait 30 seconds, then 5 minutes, then 1 hour (or something similar) but after a certain number of attempts it needs to be recoded

This, as said before sounds like its locked and - in the modern market may aswell be a paperweight. Go get something cheap and cheerful from halfrauds, it will still be better :D
