Getting Data from Google Maps

Im currently working on a location database. For each location id like to be able to use google maps to find the nearest transport link, how would I go about this?

This should be relatively straight forward. Have a look at Reverse Geocoding in the API.

I can see it turning an address into lat/long and vice versa, but i dont see how to get the local transport?
