getting emails from hardrive

Hi

I have a hard drive from a pc that died. I have backed up everything from my docs folder onto another drive.

How do I get the emails that were in microsoft outlook 2003? Which files do I have to backup?

IIRC somthing like

c:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

And it's the 'office data file' outlook.ost.

Not sure if it will work just copying it, (or if that's even the right file) but that's where it is on my machine and it's about the right size.

yup, it's that folder, but they're .pst

will probably have outlook.pst and archive.pst, you can add data file (mail in control panel), or do it in outlook

they'll be hidden folders by the way, so enable them first in Explorer, Tools, Folder Options

My bad, i meant to type pst, but i was thinking "surely they should be ost" at the time...

From the title i thought hard driver had become sentient and had started emailing thier masters.
