Hi Guys & Girls.

I had a 20" Alloy Imac. That unfortunately was broken during moving recently, Ive since got a replacement and want to get my files over to my new one.

Ive got the old hard disk in a usb enclosure connect via USB and my new Imac, It shows it fine.

However It doesn't see any of the files contained within it. It shows 100GB free though which is about how much free space i had left.

Ive run Disk utility its tells me the files are there. But i just cant gain access to them .....

Basically if any one has any idea how to get to my files, i would be great appreciative

Many Thanks

James

What is wrong with the iMac?

You might be able to boot it up (holding T) to put it in to Target disk mode, and connect it to your new Mac to transfer the files over.

Thanks for the reply's guys.

The insurance company now have the old imac, but I was able to remove the harddisk. So there's no chance of be booting it that way.

Im about to try using windows to see if that works....

Thanks again

James
