Getting Film Onto A Computer...

Ok my mate has a Sony R model DCR-TRV9E and we took loads of videos of a ski trip we have just been on and we want to put all the videos and pictures onto a DVD how do you get the videos onto a computer considering the camcorder uses mini tapes instead of memory cards.

What cable do i need?

The camcorder has a DV out.

Ok i only need the cable got firewire in my laptop.

Also will i need special software and drivers to do this?
