Getting fit for 5-a side football.

HIIT will definitely help since the game is just a mixture of jogging and sprinting. Of course, as someone else has said, the main thing is actually playing and that'll get you used to the tempo.

Deffo HIIT

if you don't know what that is, it's high intensity interval training.

this involves a certain period of sprinting, and then time jogging to recover. this is difficult on the treadmill, but can done on other machines.

A typical HIIT workout may be 30 seconds sprinting at 90% of your max speed, then jogging at around 60% for 30 seconds, repeated 15 times for a solid 15 min workout.

That takes care of the physical side, as Mr-White said, you should just play lots of 5 aside
