Hi all,

I have got to get fit and lose at least 3.5 stone!!

Why? Getting married next may so need to be in shape by Jan at the latest. Want to join the police as a special and need to get BMI down to 30 at the most as well as running the shuttle test up to 5.4 (maybe 8.something ) and max weight for sky diving is 14 stone.

Currently 112kg (17 st 9lb) so got some way to go.

However, until I have been at work for 3 months we don't get our cheap gym membership (9 weeks to go!). In that time I want to get into a routine to get used to exercise again.

Most important thing is for me to get some decent trainers, but limited to £40 :( Then to start developing an exercise routine.

Started the 100 pushups routine I saw posted on here a while ago, purely because I am rubbish at pushups and its a routine. In my rest periods for that I have started crunches.

At my disposal I have:
Inline Skates (going to get up early before work and take the dogs out on these)
Old Exercise bike (my moutain bike has no brakes so not safe)
Skipping rope
Basic dumb bell sets.

Also trying to cut out all bad food, replace with a bowl of cereal in the morning, fruit throughout the day and a decent meal at night. I can't afford fancy health foods etc so trying to cut out foods I know that are bad and cut down on large portions. All this is very difficult seeing as my workmates constantly order in chinese, chips, pizzas and subways but I haven't given in yet. I jsut sit there with my mixed bag of fruit :D

However, I really need your help. My main problem is motivation so by posting here I am setting myself a challenge, you guys are going to keep me going :D I need links to healthy eating sites, decent exercise sights etc, info on HIIT training if possible as I have heard that its great but no detail.

Anything you think that will help this fat bloater turn back into the slim hottie I once was ;) :p

Also thinking of starting a blog/food diary.

there are 2 fantastic stickys in this forum that are well worth reading, both the bodybuilding one and platypus's running one could be worth spending some time reading :]

Keep a diary, take pictures and don't get discouraged. Never seems to work when you're just starting and first month is very frustrating. Go read the stickies and if you have to leave a picture of yourself on a fridge so you see it every morning ¬_¬

Well, good luck with this mate. You've got quite the challenge ahead of you - I'm sure you'll do it though, the wedding is no doubt very important to you!

I'm in a similar situation to you so if you want to discuss ideas/help keep motivated etc then feel free to email me (email in in my Trust).

I've lost around 7lbs in the last 10 days or so due to a new house move, not having any food in the fridge (!) and deciding that I'm gonna sort myself out once and for all. That weight loss is quite high and I know it'll slow down but I went shopping last night and bought only good foods: lettuce, chicken breast, asparagus, carrots, tomatoes etc. I'm NOT going to allow myself to buy any crap that may take me away from my goal.

I've got my weights/bench set up in the spare room, with some kettle bells on order. I am also going to go to a running shop to get my running analysed and purchase some proper running shoes. I actually feel quite excited by this!

Good luck!

PS Check out this guy's videos on YouTube. I found it inspirational. He's speaks a lot of truths too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9XJMUrRFPA
