Getting FTTC Soon need a recomended router..

Hi all
Just had my fttc cab enabled..

got my order in for ee fttc upgrade with a nice new 18m contract :eek:

Need a good router with good wifi that has built in VDSL2/FTTC support

the asus wrt enabled router's look good

Any recommendations..?

Yes, don't go with EE their service is awful when it comes to broadband let alone fibre.

Router wise I'm not personally keen on the Asus routers with built in VDSL modems, they still appear like they have a long way to go...

I would get a HG612 modem and one of the Asus cable routers e.g. RT-AC68U or similar. Which is exactly what I run and it works a dream with Sky Fibre. Works an absolute dream rock solid connection not dropped in 3 months since I last reset the modem.

Did you need to change the Asus firmware to work with Sky?

Wish i could get out away from ee but i am stuck with them as i just signgd up 6m ago
so was still in contract so had to upgrade to fttc and get a new 18m contact with them:mad:...

Thanks got the HG612 on order will use it with my 7800n untill i get more cash

Allready Unlocked with Stats
i saw it cheaper but didnt know if allready unlocked..
so just went for the best Most expenive one i saw LOL..
my go live date is 25/sep
I can see the cab from my window so would be good good speeds!
Think i am the thirst On it

Got a Cat6 adsl/vdsl cable also made a difrance on ADSL2+ snr wwnt from 9 to 6.5 without any tweaks...



Cant wait untill my go live date
