Hi All

Being a while since i have built a new computer

What i want it to be able to do

1. Be able to play the latest games
2. Be able to output to a 24" 4k curved monitor and a 4k curved 48" tv
3. Have some upgrade routes - I.e add more DDR or a second graphics card
4. Intel CPU - AMD/ATI graphics card
5. Have a decent sound card that i can output to a AMP and then 4 decent quality speakers
6. Fast main harddrives and plenty of secondary storage
7. Quiet - So i am looking at Zalman CPU coolers again ??

Things i am not sure about

1. Is it worth investing in DDR 4 now and the equivalent Intel CPU ? I have 16GB OF DDR3 in my current computer.. i see 8gb sticks and 8 ddr slots seem to be available on a few motherboards
2. What issues am i going to have running things at 4K.. I will probbably game on the monitor and reduce the resolution to 1080p as thats enough for a 24" monitor isnt it?
3. No more DVI on a lot of graphics cards and the monitors ? replaced by display port ?
4. Why do you need to use display port to output to a 4k monitor yet presumably 4k is acheivable over HDMI to a tv ??

I have the following parts in my old comp.. I am hoping at least the case will be suitable for a new build

Lots of Hardrives

2 Small SSD's in raid one - 128gb refurbished crucial disks
2 Western digital RE3's in raid one as operating system disks - i think there 750gb each
2 Seagate 1.5tb disks
A modular 620w Corsair Power Supply

Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - OEM
Asus P7P55D Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard#
Zalman CNPS10X-Quiet CPU Cooler (754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/775/1155/1156/1366)
Lian Li PC-P50B Armoursuit Midi Tower Case - Black
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

I also have a Synology disk station with 2 3tb disks in which i think is configured in RAID 0 at the moment

Cheers for any imput

dont know if they do a 4k curved at 24 inch, but IMHO 24 is too small for 4k, you can barely see the pixels on a 28inch using a magnifying glass

display port is 4k @60hz, hdmi (current) is 30hz, hdmi2 is 60hz but not yet available.

but the big question is what is your budget?
