Getting iOS7 onto my iphone :)

Got a slight issue with trying to get IOS7 onto my iPhone 4. When I go into iTunes and try to do an upgrade, holding down the key so I can select the downloaded file, all files are greyed out and I am unable to select the file I need. Any ideas how to resolve this?

I have done it by the book, downloaded the development versions of XCode, iTunes etc and have the UDID thing set up and working on the developer site, but I simply can't select the new Beta 6 download file?

Any thought?

Ignore, sorted now. I need to mount the file and extract the file within.

I haven't bothered with the config file and media reset. Seem to have gotten away with it, battery is just as good as beta 5 and no issues so far. I wasn't using iTunes match though so maybe why?

Does IOS7 work on an iPhone 4 and is the only (legal) way to access it via the Apple Development approach? I am considering signing up to gain access to it and to see if I can produce some apps but it's been 25 years since I last programmed, I suspect it's moved on somewhat since Cobol and BASIC. :D

I popped it onto an iphone 4 and it worked great.

Apparently September 10th has been put down as ios7 release date. Read it on the verge.

That'll be a GM (Gold Master) release - Which is the final iOS 7 version but will only be released to developers. Public release will be shortly before the new iPhones are released no doubt.

With this email, Nuance could be referring to the Golden Master (GM) build of iOS 7. That's the finalized, feature-complete version of the OS that Apple has traditionally provided to developers ahead of a consumer rollout.

I'd be very surprised if it's a public release on the 10th September. Traditionally, they release the GM to developers a week or so before the release of the new hardware. But hey - Stranger things have happened :p

similar situation here, have it on my ipad 3, mini, iphone 5 and ipod touch, all working fine :)

I've found a couple of issues with icons vanishing when I move from portrait to landscape on the iPad and also I've had a couple of crashes where all the icons have vanished and I am unable to do anything, needing a reset, but other than that it seems fine.

actually thats true, my iPad 3 has done a couple of funky things like displaying the main row of icons through the middle of the screen but very rare and a reboot sorts it.

I am running beta 5 now (not a developer), am I able to update over the air from settings, or do I need to do it from itunes using a file?

no OTA is fine once you're activated etc, developer or not. I did the hacky version to all my devices with beta 1 and have done OTAs ever since.
