Do I really need to update to 6.1.3 first?

That's the only update showing in iTunes.

Connect to iTunes and hold power and home button until you see the phone is in recovery mode.

Then press "restore" and it'll grab the latest version for your device. It will wipe the phone though.

Updated to 6.1.3, but iTunes won't let me go any further.

Edit: Ah I guess that I need iTunes 11.1 to get any further?

Edit #2: Still won't let me update through iTunes, think I'll give it half an hour.

I updated to the GM build yesterday night and it works fine, battery life is awful though on my 4s.. reckon i'll do the recovery mode method above tomorrow to see if that can help the situation.
