Hi all,

Please accept my apologies in advance, whilst I used to mess around with computers about 10 years ago, I've completely forgotten how to overclock!

My specs are as follows:

i7 3770k @ 3.5ghz
2 x 4GB Kingston Hyper Grey (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-094-KS)
Scythe Big Shuriken 2 rev.b

I've installed Asus AI Suite and had a good look through the options in there. Whilst I can see where I'd change the timings, I can't see where I can change the frequency/clock rate.

I looked to download Intel XMP but couldn't find the necessary version I need for Windows 8 64-bit.

The memory is rated as 1600mhz and I thought this would be it's stock setting out of the box.

Grateful for any help anyone can offer.

Thanks

David

You're best to do all the overclocking in the bios rather than in windows via an app.

Have a quick watch of this video its based on a board similar to yours & is using the same CPU. Memory I would imagine would also be explained (I didn't watch the video). YouTube is a great place to look for any overclocking.

Look for x.m.p in the BIOS,enable it and pick profile 1,it will set your memory speed/timings/voltage itself
