Hey, I ordered a pair of mission speakers from forumhifi here in notts about 2 weeks ago. They didnt have the ones in i wanted so had to order them. the sales assistant i spoke to said they'd be here by the end of the week (a few days basically) so thought great, ill order them, put a £30 deposit down on them and left happy

about 40 mins later before i even got home i got a call off the guy who served me saying he'd contacted mission and was told that there will be no mission speakers for at least 16 weeks (due to the take over by wharfdale) and he wanted to know if i still wanted to go ahead with the order. I said no id like to cancel it cos i dont wanna wait 16+ weeks.

its been nearly 2 weeks now and i havnt got my deposit back. To me a deposit is only there so the company doesnt loose out completly. If i cancelled my order after they actually ordered the speakers then they get stuck with the speakers but i loose my deposit, which is far enough.
Or if everything went through fine with the order, then the deposit gets taken of the overall price of the order, again which is fair enough.

But seeing as neither of them things has happened, i dont see any reason why i shouldnt get my deposit back???

what do you guys think?? im gonna phone them up later and see what they say but wouldnt mind a bit more info on deposits before i do...

Phone them, maybe they forgot to refund it, I think your jumping to a harsh conclusion without making the call. If its 6 weeks I bet they refund your deposit
