Getting my Elite tomorrow

Im new to the Xbox.. never really played on them before.

Im getting an elite with the new Call of Duty

so is it just a case of plugging xbox in... then im off?

How do I set the live up? easy

want a little session xmas morning

you'll get a free month of live gold when you register a gamertag, it's a matter of entering a code, and yes, it's pretty much plug Xbox in, set date and time etc and go.

date and time will set automatically when conected to live

you will have to set HDTV outputs

I bought my elite jasper today

being dispatched on 29th. Going to get MW2 sharpish.

Just need to sort out a HDMI lead £4.99 from argos and get my sound sorted.

Jasper is the newest chipset inside the Xbox. Lower power usage and heat output are it's advantages.

I too ended up with an xbox360 elite for christmas - is it likely to be a jasper? Has Halo3 on the box so guessing its quite a new version?

nope not bundled - but has Halo 3 ODST and Lips and a few other games on the outside of the box and is a 120gb elite.

pretty much any new one now is likely to be Jasper - check the manufacture date - i believe anything after August is guaranteed to be Jasper.

Correct, cant remember the exact date, think it was mid-late 2009, check the manufacturers date,mine is nov-09.

Most likely even earlier than that. Jaspers started appearing in late 2008 and my January manufactured RE5 limited edition 360 is a Jasper also. Any 2009 console should be a Jasper.

Just keep playing it, you will get used to it.

What you shouldn't do is throw a paddy and attempt to find a keyboard and mouse solution, like some members here

They use the same drives and fans as the old 360s so you have exactly the same lucky dip with the sound level.

Don't spray bullets. Easier said than done, but once you've mastered that, practice aiming with speed.

How much is Live nowadays anyway? :-/
