Getting nothing but Core 15's. Where have the 17's gone?

As title, I have client type set to advanced etc as always and my 670 is now only getting core 15's and as a result is pulling 20K PPD while sitting at 80°C as opposed to pulling 80K PPD and sitting at 75°C.

The past 10 or 15 WU's have all been core 15. Is something up or are there just lots of 15's which have been prioritised?

I'm still getting core 17 wu's with advanced.
I don't know if it is frowned upon but have you tried setting it to beta?

Dont I need to be registered as a beta tester or something for it to make a difference? I think I saw Biffa say something about it.

No, you just *should* register as a beta tester, and be aware that running the beta flag doesn't necessarily get you good work units (although it usually does) because you are "beta testing". What you don't get is support unless you are a beta tester.

I get 20-30k ppd with my 670, i thought that was normal.

I've only had 17's lately. My 2500k and 6950 only just manage 30k though

Mine normally gets 80 - 100 with 17's. I'm on my second WU while using the beta flag, still only had 15's.

Could this have been caused by either:

- Me overclocking my GPU memory?
- Me switching from cause preference 'cancer' to 'any cause'?

I'm on any cause and advanced running 24x7 and I get nothing but 17's.
On the 660ti's I have core at 1250 but the memory is not important for folding so that has been underclocked by 200

Do I need next-unit-percentage 100? I have had it applied and not applied at several points in the past and i'm not sure that it makes a difference?

next unit percent just sets when the next wu is downloaded. the closer to the end of the previous the higher the quick return bonus will be.
I'd go for a try with the beta flag and see what happens, if it works maybe you can switch back to advanced after a couple of 17's.

What drivers are you running for your GPU? Some of the latest nvidia ones are reputed to be pants for folding, albeit necessary for the latest games.

I had that issue previously and backdated to the last drivers before the naming convention change, which fixed a different issue. It was working fine on these drivers until recently. I havent updated them.

It only did one or two 17's and now its back on 15's... Grrrrrr... :mad:
