Getting on-line with borderlands 1

So,i have had borderlands for years,only ever played 30 mins max as it was not my kinda thing,now got back into it and love it

Im wanting to get on-line with the game but cant create a account,how does one go about getting on-line with borderlands people ?

Use LAN with Hamachi or Tunngle.

that is very difficult to set up, there will be an update soon that will put BL1 onto the steam servers. best to just wait

Haven't they changed it to use Steam now for the online gameplay following the closure of gamespy?

Not really.

1) Install Hamachi
2) Create network & invite friends
3) Create BL LAN game and tell friends to join

or

1) Install Tunngle
2) Join the BL1 network
3) Find a LAN game

What KIA said, they are so easy to use now it's unreal. 5 mins tops if you have to register a new account and confirm the email.

Alternatively, register the game on Steam:

Install: Steam and create an account with that service if you already haven't. Once you have it installed and you are logged into your account, go to the "Tools" page and install the "Borderlands Granting Tool." Run that tool and follow the directions. You will need your original retail Borderlands 1 disc to successfully complete the process. Once complete you will have an updated version of Borderlands 1 in your Steam library that has been fixed for multi-player and such. Install that and you will never need your retail disc again.

The gearbox guys said the update should be out very soon when talking at pax prime. Fingers crossed as I'd kinds like to revisit the game

Yeah you have to use a third party program atm. Fingers crossed steam gets the update soon.

Thanks guys,didn't think I could get on_line unless I used another program,I'm up to level 47 at the moment and will wait until they sort it out

Right,i got purchased the game of year edition and borderlands 2,it now lets me online with out signing up to anything,everything seems great so far
