My debt is mounting over the summer, I must have applied for atleast 50 jobs, im running out of things to try, I tried to find seasonal farm work but google was being useless. Anything other desperate i can try? I get to hand in a JSA app on Wednesday when i finish this temp job, but its unsure wether ill get it due to being a student, apparently theres loans that are meant to last till july and some till september, so depending on that we will see.

For seasonal farm work its better to actually go to the place and ask them directly, you will stand a much better chance as it shows them you are motivated for a start.

Other than keep trying I can't think what else you can do. Do you know any family that might have a few odd jobs for you to help with?

Do you have any IT skills that you could advertise in the local paper for to help anyone who's stuck with their computer?

Failing that, if your really looking for quick cash you might have to see a few bits (ebay, car boot sale etc?).

Edit: Apply to agencies (e.g. construction agencies (even for labouring work - It's still money)).

If you're a FT student then you will not get JSA. If you slip through the net, then it becomes fraud. Sorry.

Im pretty sure the lady on the phone would not lie, depending on which class of loan you get, if your loan ends in july then you are entitled, as you are not being supported, but if your loan ends in septemember, im not.

google is not the be all and end all of finding a job :/ you need to go out and try and find something, have you been right around town, tried everywhere? why only look for seasonal farming?
how are your debts mounting, is your money going on necessities or luxuries?

Petrol is all ive spent on since ive been home from uni ( about 2 months now ) im only -1100 but insurance/phone come out of that also.

The important thing to remember with debt is to not let it drag you down (but don't stick your head in the sand either!). September will be around before you know it along with your next student loan installment.

If you're still struggling for cash by the end of Summer without a job you can always go to your bank and ask for an extension on your interest free over draft. And then when term starts back again possibly pick up some bar work or something along those lines in your student union.

Yes it sucks being skint, and a Summer where you have to watch what you're spending closely is certainly not a fun one. But it will make your first hefty pay check after you graduate all the sweeter. I'm not saying you shouldn't spend a penny over the summer (especially if you have ~500 quid left of your overdraft), just try and keep it sensible and keep your chin up.

supermarkets, fast food chains.

Dress up smart take a bundle of CVs and go around town to all the agencies. Have a chat with them and say you'll take anything. be it office, warehouse or whatever. his is also the best way for shop jobs. Ask to see the manager.
