Getting rid of light scratches

I've just given my bonnet a few nice little scratches thanks to a hose pipe scraping across it.

They only look light but are really noticible at certian angles and it's really annoying!

What can I use to polish them out, if that's possible?

Give Meguiars ScratchX a try. Work it in until it has gone clear, like vaseline. If it doesnt work first attemp, give it a few more tries as it can sometimes take more.
