A few days back i randomly started getting bucketloads of spam! >< I have had spam before but this type of spam seems impossible to block/send auto to junk folder. Its not the type of spam that coems from companies, the spam is from indivual email adderesses like ([email protected], [email protected] etc) and most contain messages like "Hrllo myte! Hyw are Yoi? Click here (then a link)" and i never get a spam from the same sender more than once. Any one got any tips? I dont really want to add Aol.com or yahoo to the spam list so they all get sent to spam folders. I sometimes get e mail from people i dont know that i NEED to read.

I guess i could change my e mail address but it would be a lot of hassle.

P.s whats more anoying is its not like ive signed upto anything new with it. Last thing i signed up for was a newsletter from boots.com around 3-4 weeks ago :(

I personally use Popfile - which tags messages with the category they fall into (I have Work, Orders, Spam, Personal, Jobs, Technical) - but other systems that use Bayesian filtering soon learn what is spam and what isn't (plus normally come with a good idea to start with!)

I then get Outlook to filter on X-text:{category} to put emails into the right folder.
Works well for me. Used the same email address for absolutely years, and the spam varies in volume month on month - and I don't use it to sign up for anything...
