Morning all,

Currently doing a few more jobs on the z4 to tidy it up a bit. One of these is a small rip in the leather insert in the drivers side door card.

I've emailed two local places with a picture of the rip, one a larger company has replied stating £85 for a fix, the other a well recommended 1 man band, said he thought it was probably not repairable but he may be able to tidy it up a bit.

What are you guys thoughts? Pic attached.

They will probably just fill it with leather filler paste which you can buy yourself for a tenner. The hard bit is getting a colour match and it usually involves cutting out a small section from somewhere that isn't visible and sending it off.

The damage can certainly be improved upon with leather filler.

I do actually have a little bit of paint in the correct colour though only a very small pot. Guessing the owner before me did some work on the bolsters. Guess I'll just try and drop it in the guys workshop for him to have a look.

Assuming theres no where to buy bmw individual coloured interior parts from an 03 z4?

Speak to gliptone and get a dye matched up to that leather. Fill it and touch it up, thats all a leather repair involves.

Ive used the filler before it works well.

I'd try the above, it should look fine if you take your time and dye the whole top section.

Failing that you could always have one of the places that have already quoted you find matching material and re-make. It won't exactly cost £20 but shouldn't be too bad either
