getting saved games from memory card to hd on a xbox?

sorry noob qestion, i was playing my friends xbox and have some saved games on a memory card i brought. however i have not got my own xbox and want to copy the games over, is this easy to do? i have not powered the xbox up yet but wanted to know for later

Are we talking original xbox or xbox 360?

if the 360 you just go into memory management and copy them over from the mem card to the HD
