Arrrgh I just found my copy of "Up The Bracket" by The Libertines in my glove box and thought I'd give it a whirl in my Hi Fi... It plays fine apart from Track 7 (My favourite on the album) which just screeches for a bit and then skips to track 8. The underside of the CD is scratched to buggery. I tried some TDK 2 step cleaner (Paste and spray) but it didn't help. Does anyone know of anything decent to get it out or should I just replace the disc?

PS Does anyone else find the sound quality on this disc extremely poor? It sounds nearly as bad as Californiacation

brasso polish, just apply a little drop and polish the whole cd with a clean soft cloth (such as a microfibre one for cleaning glasses/monitors). It should fill the scratches.

If it doesn't work after one application try a few more, but it can't really help on huge gashes, just lighter scratches.

well at least you can play yours :p mine is covered in wax after i lent it to some erasmus students who had a party with candles involved!

maybe if i leave it in warm soapy water the wax will start to come off

If all the "tricks" fail i sent a pretty buggered up Playstation 2 disc to "Scratchbusters" once, free postage, and it was back within 2 days as good as new.

:)
