Getting sound from my HDMI PC monitor for my Ps3?

Someone recently gave me a Ps3. However I am primarily a PC gamer and the only game that really interests me on the Ps3 is GT5 for use with my G27 wheel.

The only problem I have is that my wheel is setup with my monitor which only supports HDMI for the Ps3, which means it doesn't have speakers.

Are there any sensible solutions to getting sound from the monitor via hdmi?

What speakers do you have, you can use optical, or a hdmi splitter.

Amp and speakers tbh. Can't think of a better solution.

Use the composite out cable as well as HDMI and set the audio to go out over phono. PS1 cables work as well if you don't have PS3.
