I'm planning to use my dell 2405 with my 360 but obviously no speakers.. whats the best way to get sound out (not surround) and any way of sharing my jbl creature speakers betweek my pc and xbox?

Speak in simple language :D

Need to get your PC to act as a pre-amp. So you want to hook up the two phono leads that come out of your vga cable to a 3.5" Stereo Jack adaptor, the adaptor then hooks upto the Line In on your soundcard, and you use the PC's mixer applet to customise yer sound. Downside is that your PC will have to be obviously on all the time or you won't get sound :)

unfortunately the easiest would be a (cheap- ie approx £200) surround sound amp and you could plug your speakers into the headphone socket of the amp and have the xbox and pc on different inputs. You could go for a cheaper amp, but you are less likely to get decent input choices

ok, just about to move to a dfi board with the karajan audio, it has line in as well as s/pdif ports.. would I be able to use the s/pdif? ie do you think they'll be inputs or just outputs or both?

Otherwise I'm happy to go for the line in, after all having the silent watercooled pc on whilst the xbox howls away next to it isn't going to be a problem.
