Randomly my graphics started becoming messed up the other day, and forced me back onto my old machine! Is it true to assume if im getting sparkles in the bios my gfx card is on its way out. Nothing else has changed about the system, the gfc card is a geforce 6600 pci-express.

It originally started pixelating in windows, ive checked its not overheating as its had a 120mm fan running at it full pelt, on top of the stock cooling just to be sure.

Any other ideas?

thanks muchly

My 6600GT did that (It was AGP tho). Sparkies mean core problems, and like you say if you've got all the cooling running at full wack its unlikely to be overheating. You could look at temps in windows, see what the card is running at.

But I think your instincts were correct, time for an upgrade methinks...

Thanks for quick replys guys, i wish i was in the position to afford an upgrade, i feel its going to be a browse on the for sale forums and hoping a bargain comes up!
