Bit of a weird one this.. I've recently noticed that after using my computer I seem to get some kind of static charge. So I keep walking around getting electric shocks! Getting a bit annoying tbh. I'm pretty sure it's the pc as I've had the same thing in different locations - both at home, uni and now in the office at work! Never used to do this.

Any ideas what's causing this and how I can stop it?! I guess it's probably only happening when I touch the case rather than through the mouse/keyboard but I'm not really sure tbh!

Could it be that you are charged and that your (presumably metal) case is connected to ground. Therefore when you touch it the charge jumps from you straight to ground?

By any chance do you have carpets in your house, wear slippers or don a nice comfy fleece/jumper?

Yeah it is a metal case, and the office it's currently in is carpeted. I'm wearing shoes/trainers, rubber soled I would guess. Not wearing a fleece or jumper.

I don't get the shock when touching the computer, it's when I've been using the computer then go away from it - for instance touching metal door handle to the kitchen etc!
