Getting subnets to talk to eachother

i wouldnt use vlans, as they are more for segragation e.g

phones on vlan 9
pc's on vlan 8
the 2 cant talk to each other.

yes they are more for segregation, but in certain circumstances it ends up being a needs must - as I said on our drayteks, in order to get them to route between subnets you have to do it via vlans, even if you don't use them anywhere else on the network (e.g. on layer 2 switches etc).

Draytek user interface pictured in following link:

* Note Lan 2/3/4 are only available when VLAN is enabled

As I mentioned, I have no experience with Ruckus, and looking at their product page I am struggling to even find any routers - so can't point you in any more direction with where to look/what to change.

Is the switch you're using Layer 2 or 3?
You have a separate router which you're attempting to 'bridge' the two subnets?

Personally, I would have just created a /23 mask for the 2 networks on one VLAN, but what you're doing is OK too.

What's the static IP route you've got for the router? .250 on both VLAN's?

Thats what Im working with.

Spent the morning pulling my hair out. I hate networks. I broke it and then had to restore...thank god I took that backup.

It might just be me being thick, but the manual for that mentions nothing about Routing - it is purely a Wireless Access Controller?

If that is the case then I think you will struggle to get any kind of routing going.

Best bet would be as already suggested by most, to change the subnet mask to 255.255.248.0 on all devices, leave the gateway as is, and everything *should* just work.

This leaves it as a flat network, no Vlans, and no unneeded complexity.

Changed the subnet mask, as I had done last week and it worked today, however, at the end of last week it **** itself and I spent a good amount of time restoring.
All I can think of is that there was something wrong somewhere that the restore fixed.

Thanks all for the help!
