Getting the best SkyHD deal

My current Sky+ subscription is due for renewal in December

Is there a way to get a better deal or are you always stuck with what Sky offer you?

I notice that new customers seem to get MUCH better treatment than existing ones

I just signed up via Quidco for Sky HD and should be getting £100 cash back

Plus the box was free but had to sign up for movies and HD for 12 months.

Just ring and ask. If you have been a customer for long enough and you get the right person on the phone, then you can easily strike a deal.

When I got HD last year I just asked for discount, I didn't give the guy any waffle and after looking at my account he gave me the full package for £30 (should be £65 or so for what I have) for the 1st 6 months! Over £200 saving just by asking a simple question

I phoned up and told I was leaving as Virgin were offering me their HD box for free (They were but I had no plans to take up the offer

). A couple of hours later I got a phone call from another customer service representative who offered me the box for free with free install, no HD fee and half price sports for 3 months, which I obviously took.

Most of these good deals seem to be given to people upgrading their package to HD. Anyone get any deals for renewal of an existing HD package without any upgrade?

Go and work for Sky. My housemate has been working for them in a call centre and in a week will be able to get half price everything and free HD box. Pitty we have already got a contract out under my name that started in July
