Has anyone got the Eurostar at St Pancras in the last few months?

I'm thinking of taking a trip to Paris and was looking at taking the Eurostar rather than flying, but was concerned when I read on their website to arrive 90-120 mins before departure. Is that really necessary?

I appreciate they've got to do passport/covid/bag checks just like at the airport, but I thought it would be a fair bit quicker than flying.

Last time I did the trip, it was exactly that, border controls take time unfortunately. And to be honest, coming back is much worse as the french border guards are slower than british rail.

What we need is a screen shot, looks like pre covid it was 90 mins and as we were goimg for over a month (to spain most on tgv) not a big deal, hanging around a large reception area with retail outlets then plonking pocket contents in a box and going through xray thingy, all checks done London not paris
Quick tip dont walk between train stations in Paris like we did (guard de nord to guard de lion iirc) after midnight through red light district

Boarding is quicker than a plane but the 'overheads' you mention are largely the same I imagine (I haven't done this since 2012 but I also haven't flown since 2019). Personally I wouldn't arrive less than 90mins before departure, it's easy to fill time if you need to.
