Central locking works fine, but the remote doesn't. Opened the key expecting to find a battery to replace but was met with confusion and thought best to leave it alone.

Off to Ford? How much?

Thanks :)

my dad took his down to ford, and they replaced the batt. for a tenner.

They said he might have to get it reprogrammed as it didn't work for a year or 2, but it worked first time with no hassle! :)

HTH

Yer fords will change the battery pretty cheaply for you, I did mine myself twice, its easy but you have to fiddle a bit to do it, I broke the second one :(

Go to fords though and they will get it sorted out, I couldnt live without the remote locking on my mondeo :p Get it fixed

I've just done it myself. Replaced the batteries first, then...

Turn ignition from position 0 to 2, four times VERY quickly. Probably within three seconds or it won't work.

Wait a second, red LED on dash next to clock should stay on.

Remove key from ignition.

Press either of the buttons and hold until LED on dash blinks.

Wait for the LED on dash to go off, and then start blinking again.

Turn ignition from 0 to 2 to 0 again.

Your remote is now programmed to your car.

Mine works a treat :) Handy one press for driver door only, two presses for whole car. One press lock and two press lock and alarm. Great when you haven't had it before.
