Yeah I'm assuming you're booting off the usb - that's what you must do.
Are you trying to update from Windows 10?
If so, I'd suggest you set your BIOS to boot from the USB flash drive (or DVD if you're old school!) and install it clean that way.
Yes I'm on windows 10, I will see what it's set to in the bios. I will let you know if I get past the fail.Yeah I'm assuming you're booting off the usb - that's what you must do.
I did, it was me just not properly reading lolI'm assuming you've delved into the BIOS and selected UFEI now...
That's strange then, I tried it three times but chrome wouldn't have it. I have noticed on my SSD it has windows.old and windows.new I'm guessing I can delete the .old and leave the .new?I was using Chrome and had no issues
It's strange because I thought I had formatted the hard drive in the installer.I formatted the drive in the installer to avoid that. I think you can bin it with disk cleanup.
Yeh just delete it or use disk cleanupThat's strange then, I tried it three times but chrome wouldn't have it. I have noticed on my SSD it has windows.old and windows.new I'm guessing I can delete the .old and leave the .new?
I remember now using disk cleanup for the same reason when i went from Windows 8.1 to 10. Totally forgot about that lolYeh just delete it or use disk cleanup
Yes a little bit too late lolToo late now, but you could have used UUP dump to get the ISO, you'd just need to run the script on your PC which would take about an hour to download and create the image.
Could you not try [email protected] with a random password? This would fail and then give you an option for a local account. The one thing that didn't work with Rufus was to bypass the need of a Microsoft account. Which is a bummer as now my user account is set to the first part art of my email.
No it didn't work for me. As i didn't have much installed i did it again this time adding my name for the local account on Rufus, this time it worked by saying i didn't have a internet connection. I did unplug myself from the Internet to be on the safe side.Could you not try [email protected] with a random password? This would fail and then give you an option for a local account.
