Getting to know the GT-R

I was in my CTR and I passed one of these in my local town (newark)...I made eye contact with the driver for about 2-3 secs. I was thinking 'wow a GTR', he was thinking 'owned'.

I wonder what these will be like in the 2nd hand market...if they will lose much value.

I only seem to get sporadic emails from DR so I missed this...cheers for the link.

Made an excellent point of why the owners are amazed at the attention they are getting on GTROC...easier to approach a bloke with a GT-R than a Lambo. I'll have a proper re-read in the morning.

Will read this in the morning.

Regarding the value, i guess it depends on how many Nissan are committing to produce. I cant however see Nissan making the car into a mass market vechile. They haven't done this with previous models and im betting they want to keep some kind of exclusivity to the car. Who knows maybe im just jibber jabbing.

More interesting to know is whether they will produce a GTS-T type toned down version? That would certainly be interesting. Will it step on the 370Z's toes in Nissan's eyes?

CAP valuation is remarkably strong, 85% after one year. Those of us who had our pre-hike price honoured will suffer the least at around 90% so not quite the usual burn driving off the forecourt.

I don't think the GT-R will be particulary exclusive, Nissan will bang them out to meet the demand, but there may be less takers than predicted now that running costs are becoming apparent. I doubt you'll see anything like a GTS-T as it's a completely new platform unlike the vanilla Skyline evolved variants and can't really see them diluting it down.

OT sorry, but how does DR make any money if theyre a free internet site, apart from the advertising on there? How do they pay staff salaries?
