Getting TV on my PC

I've just built my new computer and now I want to exploit the multimedia capabilities of the PC.

The TV socket is 2 floors down in the living room, but I want to be able to watch it upstairs in the attic room where the computer is.

What kind of kit would I need? A cable from there to upstairs is probably out of the question btw.

I assume some sort of wireless device+TV card?

If anyone got any advice on what kind of setup one could use, it would be much appreciated :)

I'll try it and see how it looks, but I have a feeling it wont be high enough resolution. BBC iPlayer looks horrendous on my screen as it's resolution is pitiful.

A TV card slotted into a PCI slot, with an AV sender at the TV box would perhaps be a solution, OCuk got a couple of TV cards and I can get an AV sender on Amazon...

Coaxial splitter at the TV signal point. Coaxial TV cable from there up two floors. TV card DVB-T2 for freeview HD goodess.

AV senders dont give a wonderful picture in my experience, about as good as analogue through a half decent aerial. An AV sender would also need a source, such as a freeview box, Sky box or similar. TVs don't always have an external output (if ever).

Fit a new aerial and run coax direct to PC and use same TV card as above. This is probably the easiest. Aerials aren't that much if you live in a sever reception area.
