i have 2x GTX260s in sli.
i have a 32inch hd tv, could i in theory play a blu ray on my pc and get the picture on the tv. How would i go about doing this?
would i need an output from the gfx card and use a cable with a hdmi connector at the other end to plug into the tv?

To get any sound you'll need to connect the graphics card to the S/PDIF connector on the motherboard or sound card depending on which you use for audio.

So you need to check:

a) Your motherboard/sound card has an S/PDIF connector and

b) Your GTX 260 has the appropriate connector:

I do this in the living simply over DVI. It's easier for me to put the sound from the PC into a nice amp setup rather than suffer the TV's sound.

Just be careful not to buy any of these DVI/HDMI cables from the high street. Real scams going on there. They are dirt cheap, even the many metre length ones online.

I've also found that nvidia graphics cards are better at handling outputs to tv, where a video source played from the PC, through a player/browser gets redirected to the TV and not your main monitor. ATI/AMD cards always seemed to balls that up but that was a few years ago, maybe the drivers are better now. Nvidia on the other hand have always just worked for me when pulling video from any app to be played full screen on a tv.
