getting waves down the screen when playing games

hey guys

When playing homefront and bf3 etc i notice a wave going down my monitor when gaming, it also did this when i was running a gtx480

Why is it doing this and can i solve it?

Or do i sell it on and buy a bigger monitor

Btw my monitor is a samsung syncmaster p2370 23"

Sounds like either vsync tearing, or some sort of interference but that would be visible all the time.

Need more information really. Could be tearing though

BF3 looks awful without anisotropic filtering whacked up IMO, having set low can case an odd effect as textures come closer to your viewpoint
