Getting WoW on a DVD

WoW said a while ago the reason they released the game on CD's was at the time they believed that not enough people had DVD drives to install the game and as they wanted to hit the mass market it made sense to use CD's

You will probably find that plenty of shops (look in *places that I probably shouldn't have mentioned*) have a 10-day trial DVD costing £1.49 or so. This has the full client on the DVD and can be used with any account, so as long as you've bought the actual game as well it works fantastically.

Alternatively (again assuming you already have a full account), the entire client can now be downloaded at http://www.wow-europe.com/shared/downloads/protected/wowclassic/pc/en.htm (PC version)

I'd have thought the majority of PCs have DVD drives in them now. The Valve Survey shows 95.88% out of 261,261 computers have DVD drives.

surley only real old crappy pc's, that could only dream of beaing capable of running wow, have a cd rom drive

just burn your WoW program file folder on2 a disc, then drag it on2 your pc when you want it and hey presto, it works. no installation needed. will take 2 discs and saves you havin 2 reinstall it over and over again

collectors edition came with dvd + cd's. They wouldn't just print off a few would they.

Very glad i have both the CE of WoW and BC, recently purchased a new system and had to reinstall them both yesterday. At first i thought i was going to have to use the cd's but luckily found the dvd's in my drawer.

Theres like 8 CD's though iirc, 4 for each which is outrageous but, atleast they gave both (atleast for CE)
