This has happened three times in the last fortnight now, letters with other address's being put through our letterbox.

Now I have either managed to catch up with the post man and tell him, or just re-posted it. My main concern is that this could happen with my mail, and surely other peoples.

What would you do in this situation? Can't seem to find anything on the RM website suitable.

cross out the address on the front, circle return to sender on the back , put in postbox.
Either that or tape to the front door and leave a message for postman

Contact them, visit your post office?

Oh I was thinking of paying a visit to local post office, should have mentioned that, I was just mainly curious if anyone else has had a similar problem and if there was some way of making an inquiry online. I'll probably never get around to it if not :p

I would give the local sorting/delivery office a bell.

Chances are you are either on a round that is being done by different posties rather than a regular single one, or your normal postie is on holiday.

I don't really have any advice but...

There is a road in the next village to mine with the same road name. The post code starts with the same two letters and two numbers.

The only difference between most things that get posted to us is the 3 characters at the end of the post code.

Most things do not have the village name on them so we end up with lots of posts that is not for us. Luckily there is a post box just outside our house.

No amount of complaining has stopped this happening though :(
