GF wants a Camaro

It's a lot cheaper to go over there buy one and ship it over. They are amazing cars you should get the 6.2L they really do shift. Lots of them about over there!

Show me something you can lease for £3000 all in per annum with a realistic mileage cap that isn't a ford fiesta or something else fairly basic.
He is not a petrol head in any way but he has had numerous cars for this his wifes Megane convertible brand new was 2500 for the year again less than depreciation. His current car is a Mitsubishi warrior.

Once you've paid an additional 25% in import and VAT fees, paid a grand to have the lights converted and it SVA'd and MOT'd, and paid 2k to have it properly shipped over, it's a damn fine line.

But you'd get the exact spec you want, possibly even in RHD? So I'd say it's worth it if you don't need the car in a hurry!

No RHD - not unless you import it from Australia (or pay an immense fortune if you can find a specialist to convert it) - but then you'll be paying about 30% more on top of the original price :D

yeah that could easily be taken to mean g/f wants the camaro as the current family/couple car, the current one being the 5 series, dont be so daft.

This is costing 2X the national average take home pay.

Whats the national average wages got to do with anything, thats lost me.

He's got a 5 Series he leases with his work car allowance. This is completely independant of his girlfriends car choice and his girlfriends employment.

It might well be a pipe dream but we've seen nothing to suggest his girlfriend cannot afford the car, no stupid questions which give it away as another stupid dreamer thread, so to link the thread to the fact he leases a 5 Series is completely irrelevent.

Get a V8.

That is all.

Much as it pains me to say this....the LLT V6 actually might be the better option. 312hp from the MY2011 cars onwards, more than reasonable fuel economy, and with tuning goodies just as available as they are for the LS3 and L99 V8s. Jay Leno had a Camaro with the V6 built for SEMA the other year with a couple of turbos bolted on. It made all the horsepower of the LS3 V8 motor (426hp is what GM will admit to for the LS3 in the Camaro, quote it any higher and the insurance companies would run for the hills :D), but with better economy and lower weight.

Surely this sort of car isnt about outright performance, economy, handling, weight....or anything really.

It's about a v8

They're coming in RHD :)

edit: Odd. Official GM statement says yes, other sources say no. So maybe?
