In a word, yes. Although I will add that everyone seems to suggest the 5770 which only costs a tiny bit more. I can't speak from experience as I've never actually tried a 5750 or 5770 though.

Well i orderd

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (since its on offer this week by a few £)

&

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply

:) just hope it flaws Settlers 6/7

at 1440 x 900 it will run most games full settings :)

5770 at this res will run ALL games more than fine. a 40quid card will probably run fine as well, especially anything that's not FPS.

The old PSU could probably be fine too but it's always a good idea to have proper PSU so in case it goes boom it won't take all the components with it.

On the games side I can recommend all Anno series ( 1602 > 1503 > 1404 ), great games.

Hi all,

Well my GF now has this installed into her PC.

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply

Have to say im dissapointed by the 5770 i tried running Just Cause on it to give it a little test etc and the FPS is bad its not smoothe at all. & it seems laggy on Settlers 6 too.

^ Anything i can do to make it better?

Where if i run it on my X1900's in crossfire it flaws it?! saying that i do have X4 quad core and 4GB RAM in my machine.

& she has
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8GHZ & 2GB of ram

Fresh reinstall?

It's not a fresh install - From Dell & hasn't been wiped since she bought it

uninstalled the bloat that came with it though

She doesn't have a copy of Vista either

Make sure to uninstall all drivers for graphics cards and then use ccleaner to clean registry then get the latest catalyst drivers 10.3a I believe.

I suggest Black & White 2 its a great game :)

^ Yeah i did all that before i installed the new GFX card

Am i being silly to think that the 5770 would overpower X1900's? (crossfire) the RAM still adds to 1GB.

Ill let her know about B&W 2 :)

If I was you i would do a clean restore with Windows 7 to get the best out of it. DX11 support etc...

Or make sure you ahve the latest DX installed February 2010 I think the latest revision is. Maybe try 10.2 as well.

^^ Yeah i've said she should get win7 on here but again thats more ££ atm

She isnt a very heavy gamer either
