Hey all!

Last night my gf's 206 (X Reg) was broken into while it was parked in a forest car park and she was on a bike ride with her mum, they put their hand bags in the boot of the car (stupid I know). They lost all the stuff in the boot, include wallets and house keys, some clothes, shoes, glasses, well over £400 of stuff :(
They are pretty sure it was this guy who was parked in the car park already cuz he must have seen them put their stuff in there.
But what I want to know is how they got into the boot without leaving a mark on any of it! must have been professionals :(
Does anyone know of any secuirty problems with the 206? (or could explain to me how they did it lol)
I'm going to give it a go myself later to see if theres some stupid way of getting it open, if I can get it open I can see shes going to want a new car lol

Mac :)

They didnt lock it maybe?

I know different car but my ex's 106 was broken into, thought there wasnt a mark on it then noticed a small hole just under the keyhole, seems the 106 is easy to break into at least.

It was definatly locked, the remote lock only has 1 button so if it wasn't locked when they got back when she pressed the key it would have locked it, and she'd had said "oh crap I'm such a fool" lol
I haven't had a good look my self I'm going to later 2nite, the police are looking at it at 10ish apparently.
Thing is theres no lock on the boot you can't unlock the boot on its own its the whole car so they must have just forced it open :(

Only if you pull the seats forward, and I'm sure they would have taken the Sat Nav stuff from inside the car if they'd got in there, I will look at the rest of the car though! Its a good thought!
Cheers!

Hmmm weird, maybe just opportunists then, dont know how they got in though but just grabbed what they could and went.

My old 206 was broken into a few times, the first time they managed to open the boot and the alarm did not go off, not sure how they managed that. Other time they smashed the window and helped themselves, nice to know the alarms in these cars work.

Iterates just how awful the 206 is, it is a crap car.

The X reg has actual key access to the boot. My later (2001) 206 only unlocks the boot with the key remote, there is no other access to the boot locking mechanism.

It is probably a case of it being picked or forced with no immediate evidence of forced entry. I think all 206s have deadlocks if they have remote central locking. Was it deadlocked?

My mates had no alarm and they just bent the top of the door down on that one.

Remote boot release from in the cabin?

Poke something through a window seal and press the button?

Its not fancy enough to have a remote boot release lol

Yep its a terrible car, looks nice but drives terribly, shes got the 1.4 8v too so it doesn't move at all, I had a 206 for all of 3 months which my mum gave me cuz she didn't need anymore and I hated it, went from a M reg Fiesta si to a 1.4 03 206 thought it was a step up but it was more rattley! slower! and handled terribly, scared me to death in the wet!

lol Septh just try pulling the boot handle with some force see what happens.

I shall try this later!

Its doesn't have an alarm, it definatly doesn't have a lock on the boot, just a handle button thingy to open it.
How would you dead lock it? the key only has one button on it, press it first time it locks press it again it unlocks, on my car if u press it twice it will dead lock it lol

Update...
The CSI department of the police have just looked and said they unlocked it from the passenger side, which unlocked the whole car went in the boot took the stuff, relocked it and left.
My Gf's not told me how they unlocked it tho, I can see her wanting a new car now :(
