GFX card (ATI 4850) corruption, even in DOS

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a prebuilt computer on OcUK (Titan accelerator) with an ATI HD4850 express. As soon as I switched on the computer, artifacts appear on the screen. And on every screen: boot, bios, dos, windows... Sometime a blue screen appears stating the memory is overloaded, sometimes it doesn't.

After a chat on the phone with OcUK support staff, we agreed it must be a faulty GFX and return it, but testing prooved it was perfectly working on their side. So I tried on another computer and it is perfect. At the same time I tried another GFX card in my computer and it is also prefectly working (this card was a ATI x1800 Pro). Both are PCI express, going in the same slot...

So I am a bit lost now. I tried to modify some configuration in the bios, but nothing improved it.
Does someone have any idea of what it could be? It is very frustrating to have a new computer and not being able to use it....

Thank you,

Sapro

Return the whole system, not just the GPU. OCUK will then be able to sort the problem out for you.
