Gfx card confusion

hello,

I've just upgraded my board and CPU to a Gigabyte Z97x- Gaming 5 and a i5 4690K but I'm still using my old 6950. I game at 1080 and am mainly playing older stuff like NFS Rivals at the moment.

My Question is with a £200 to £250 max budget should I upgrade and if so whats the best card for my money? Or should I wait a bit if there are new cards coming out?

Seems like if I was buying now I shoudl be looking at the R9 380? What else should I consider?

I find the GFX card market completely confusing so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

I would say new cards are at best 9 months away but they will be a good improvement on cards out now, if you need a card get a 970 or 390 for around just over £250, they will be quite a bit better than a 380/960 at £150/£200.

Thanks. I guess my next question is which version of the 390 to go for?

I love the look of the MSI cooler (red and black matching my motherboard). But am wondering if the the Sapphire with the larger cooler and 3 fans is a better idea?. Shame it doesn't have a backplate though. Any recommendations?

Thanks

Both of those cards have good ratings.
